A crash that happened along the New Jersey Turnpike southbound that Thursday morning could be blamed for the slippery conditions of the road and the driver’s error. Investigators reported that the crashed claimed the lives of 3 people.

The driver of a Grand Cherokee Jeep lost control, veered off the road and hit a tree. The impact was such force that it killed the driver Segundo Romero, age 45, and two of his cousins. The mishap took place just a few miles of the south Exit 4 or Route 73 in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey at about 7:20 o’clock in the morning.

According to Detective Ed Long of the New Jersey State Police, Romero was driving and to avoid striking the concrete barrier, he turned his steering wheel very hard to the right. When he did that, he lost control and the slick roads just sort of took over.

State officials warned commuters that the area will be closed while they conducted their investigation of the deadly wreck. This is also to give the crews time to clear the ground. The road was opened for traffic after three hours.

It was confirmed that at least three people died following the horrible crash in Camden County’s Cherry Hill, Camden County. The fatalities were all adults, and pending notification of nearest kin, their identities will be released later on Thursday.

Detective Long said that they have warned drivers, especially during the winter season, to slow down their speed when there is any precipitation. An allowable speed limit of speed is 65, may not be safe with conditions like the weather this morning; so there is no guarantee that running on this will safeguard your car from spinning. According to the record of New Jersey State Police, preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south along the left lane. When he lost control of the vehicle, it veered from the roadway towards the left shoulder. The Cherokee veered across all lanes of travel, ran off of the road to the right, and go all the way down an embankment before it struck a tree.

The three men inside the jeep were pronounced deceased at the scene at about 7:54 o’clock that morning.
