A newspaper in Dalton, Georgia gave out the report that an elderly Florence couple was fatalities today when they were involved in a crash with a pickup truck towing a boat.

It was in Dalton on a Wednesday at 6:50 o’clock in the morning when the mishap occurred. The Dalton Daily Citizen stated that an 81 year old man from Florence, identified as Charles Beckett was pulling out his vehicle from a hotel parking lot right into the path of the pickup truck.  He and his 73 year old wife Donna were killed at the scene

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup told the police that the vehicle of Beckett suddenly appeared along his path that he had no reason to stop.

Crews immediately responded to a couple of crashes in Eastern Carolina that Wednesday morning, but thankfully there were no other reports of serious injuries again.

In another location in Pamlico County, crews were directing traffic on Highway 55 between Oakwood Drive and Savannah Road after a two-vehicle crash right before 7:30 o’clock in the morning. It took place on 55 between Oakwood Drive and Savannah Road.

According to the report of Trooper Rink, a driver was pulling his car out of his driveway and ddi not notice that there was a truck in front. Rink said that the man backing out had an obstructed view of the roadway. He did not see that there was a commercial vehicles parked on the side of the road. Despite the wreck, there were no injuries reported.

In Jones County, a two-vehicle crash was reported just about 7:30 a.m. near the courthouse in Trenton. Police are conducting their investigation of the collision.
